This virus/cold appears to be knuckling under to my relentless naturopathic barrage! Coldeze zinc tablets, day and night. Lemon water in the morning. Swishing coconut oil in my mouth for 15 to 20 minutes in the morning. Neti Pot salt water nasal rinses. Glowing green smoothies for breakfast. Tomato basil soup for lunch. And sadly, Fritos for snack, lunch, another snack, and some kind of other snack. Fritos, yep that’s the key.
And Yoga. Dude – if you haven’t done yoga, seriously, it can make you immortal. OK, maybe not immortal, but it can make you feel pretty good!
1. Meditation: Again, I took advantage of my busy family’s penchant for going and doing. While they went and did, I put on my guided meditation and stayed put. It was glorious. I so am starting to see the pot of gold at the end of the I’m-gonna-get-into-this-meditation-thang rainbow! I went in trying to control the situation, feeling like I was the master, and came out feeling like a fluid part of whatever was happening. Ah. May. Zing.
1. Today I am grateful for social networking. Believe me, there are some awesome aspects. Discover them.
2. I am grateful for my children. When I feel like I’m up against a wall in some rediculous corporate swirl, I talk to my kids, who I can barely call kids any more, and I realize that life renews itself. Try it. Listen. Try it again.
3. Today, I have to say that I’m grateful for my age. I’m really starting to see that I am in the most amazing phase of my life. I cannot let another day go by without taking advantage of this.
3. Act of Kindness: Nothing overt today. I picked up an empty can in the parking garage, some paper towels in the bathroom, smiled and made eye contact with a stranger on the street. It would be interesting to see if any of those things made a difference. 🙂
4. The one good thing that happened today was again, the realization that I had a few hours to myself, of time to do what I wanted to do. I came home to one kid, had some good conversation, did the dishes, put a few things in order, then did my yoga. I need to explore why I feel like I can’t do those things when there are others in the house. But that’s a conversation for another time.
5. Exercise: I’m sensing a theme here. Yoga. I commented to Downtown Dad once I was done, that it was like putting oil in an engine. I feel so fluid. 45 minutes of the same program I mentioned yesterday. Perfect.
